Mr SM Thanneermalai was appointed as a Board Member of Private Pension Administrator Malaysia on 2 August 2021.

Mr SM Thanneermalai is the Managing Director of Thannees Tax Consulting Services Sdn Bhd and has been working in the field of taxation since 1980. He was previously the Senior Tax Partner of PwC and the Managing Director of Crowe Horwath KL Tax Sdn Bhd.

Mr SM Thanneermalai has over 40 years’ experience in dealing with complex tax issues, resolving tax disputes with the Inland Revenue Board of Malaysia and Royal Malaysian Customs Department. He is a member of the Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants.

Mr SM Thanneermalai was the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Malaysian Tax Research Foundation. He was also a former President of the Chartered Tax Institute of Malaysia.
